Program Description

Event Details

Kids/teens of all ages can read to Jessie the Maltese*.  Jessie and the other pet-partners have been specially trained for this national literacy program. Sign up online a week before each date OR call in day-of for availability.    *If Jessie is unable to make it, another pet partner may fill-in.

  • Reading slots are 10 minutes
  • Participants will be called in the order registered for reading slots during the 2-hour program.
  • Bring your own book from home or check one out here at the library.
  • The dog will be in the Story Room, off of the children’s area
  • This is a REAL dog, so please be mindful of any allergies you/your child/your household may have. By signing up, you acknowledge your responsibility. 
  • Please be respectful of everyone else’s time.
  • Per our policies: All children age 7 and under shall be attended to and adequately supervised by a responsible adult or caregiver 12 years of age or older. The caregiver must be with the child at all times while in the library.

Accompanying Adults

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop offs will not be permitted.
