Join us for a Veteran's Day Program celebrating WWI medic Connie Klippel from Wonewoc.
Born in 1892 in Mauston, Klippel volunteered for service with the Wisconsin National Guard in June 1917 in Racine. He would ultimately become a medic with Ambulance Company #127, 107th Sanitary Train, 32nd Division. After the war, Klippel settled in Wonewoc and wrote a column for the Wonewoc Reporter, “The Cavalier,” which told of his experiences in the “War to End All Wars.”
